Young hoopsters vie in 2nd St. Francis Xavier Cup

ASPIRING basketball players get to showcase their skills when they compete in the 2nd St. Francis Xavier Cup, which will start on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.

The two-day tournament will have the 12-Under, 10-U, and 8-U categories.

Competing in the 12-U -are SHS-AdC, Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC), Philippine Christian Gospel School, and University of San Carlos.

Battling in the 10-U competition are SHS-AdC, DBTC, PAREF Springdale, and the Tigbao Barons.

The 8-U category will be competed in by teams from the SHS-AdC.

Competing teams will play in a single round robin elimination with the top four teams advancing to the semifinal round.

In the semis, it will be No. 1 versus No. 4 and No. 2 versus 3.

The semifinal and final rounds will be played via knockout matches.(CCM)
