Antetokounmpo goes to Miami in blockbuster trade
TWO-TIME MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo will have a new home come the brand new NBA season.
A blockbuster trade was pulled off a day before the NBA Draft with superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo leaving the Milwaukee Bucks for the Miami Heat.
In multiple reports, the Bucks sent Antetokounmpo, a 10-time All-Star, and Bobby Portis to the Heat, who in turn got Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware and Kasparas Jakučionis.
Milwaukee will also get four picks, including the No. 13 selection that will be made in the NBA draft, which will be held on Wednesday (Philippine time), June 24.
The deal also gave the Heat first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, a pick swap in 2030, and a second-round pick in 2033
With the supposed deal, Antetokounmpo is leaving a Milwaukee squad that he led to teh NBA championship in 2021.
The bull-strong forward is the Bucks’ 15th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-11 Greek forward has career averages 24.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per game with 10 consecutive seasons of averaging at least 22.9 points.
Antetokounmpo currently has 21,531 career points. There are only seven active players who have more points in their careers than Antetokounmpo.(CCM)
