4 nabbed for selling butane in San Fernando

FOUR persons were arrested for unauthorized selling of butane in Barangay Tonggo, San Fernando town, Cebu oon Friday, March 6.

The buy-bust operation was conducted in a store where refilling of butane canisters was made, police said.

Arrested were Angelito Abarquez Mag-usara, 33; Brian John Abarquez Mag-usara; 18, Flaviano Mag-usara, 65; and Henry Pardillo, 20.

Police said the four men failed to show documents from the Department of Energy proving that the selling of butane was authorized.

Seized during the operation were boxes of butane cainters and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) that were used for refilling.

Maj. Michael Gingoyon, chief of the Fernando police, said the arrest stemmed from complaints that the LPG-refilling station was operating without permits.

Some residents also complained of the threats posed by the establishment.

Police said charges for violation of Republic Act 11592 of the LPG Industry Regulation Act will be filed against the four men.(CDB)
