Ahanmisi cops 2 titles in PBA All-Star Weekend
SHOOTER Jerrick Ahanmisi stamped his class in the PBA Season 50 All-Star Weekend where he ruled two skills events on Friday, March 6, at the Candon City Arena in Ilocos Sur.
Ahanmisi of the Terrafirma Dyip topped the obstacle course before showing he is one of the league’s elite shooters after dominating the three-point shotout.
Ahanmisi fired 30 points in the final round of the three-point contest to defeat PBA all-time three-point leader Marcio Lassiter of San Miguel Beer.
Lassier scored 25 points to finish second while Juan Gomez de Liano of the Converge FiberXers ranked third with 18 points.
Before topping the three-point showdown, Ahanmisi pocketed the obstacle challenge title by beating five other players with a time of 24.44 seconds in the final.
Brandon Bates of Meralco, meanwhile, ruled the obstacle challenge big man edition with a time of 22.86 seconds, beating Brandon Ramirez of NLEX and James Laput of Magnolia in the final.
On the other hand, Jerom Lastimosa collected 27 points and 10 assists to lead the Rookie-Sophomore team to a 154-150 win over the Juniors squad.(CCM)
