LOGISTICS tycoon Enrique Razon Jr. is now the richest Filipino, according to the Forbes 2026 World’s Billionaires list.

Razon, chairman of port operator International Container Terminal Services Inc., hotel and casino firm Bloomberry Resorts Corp., and East zone concessionaire Manila Water Co. Inc., is the only Filipino to make the global top 200. He ranks 175th with a net worth of $16.5 billion.

He is followed by Ramon Ang, chairman and CEO of San Miguel Corp., who ranks 1,189th with $3.6 billion, and Lucio Tan, chairman of LT Group, at 1,223rd with $3.5 billion.

Last year’s richest Filipino, real estate and retail magnate Manuel Villar, now comes fourth among Filipino billionaires, ranking 1,376th worldwide with a net worth of $3.1 billion.

The Sy family holds the next four positions among Filipino billionaires. Henry Sy Jr. leads them at 1,676th with $2.5 billion, while Hans Sy and Herbert Sy are tied at 2,274th with $1.8 billion each. Harley Sy shares the 2,386th spot with property tycoon Andrew Tan, both valued at $1.7 billion.

Other Filipino billionaires include Lucio Co and BDO Unibank chairperson Teresita Sy-Coson, both ranked 2,481st with $1.6 billion, and Elizabeth Sy alongside Susan Co, wife of Lucio Co and owner of retailer Puregold, tied at 2,600th with $1.5 billion.

Completing the list are Tony Tan Caktiong, founder of Jollibee Group, at 3,185th with $1.1 billion, and Eusebio Tanco, chairman of STI Education Systems Holdings and digital entertainment company DigiPlus Interactive, at 3,332nd with $1 billion.

Globally, Forbes notes the list now features 3,428 billionaires, up 400 from last year—the largest number since the ranking began in 1987. Combined, the world’s wealthiest hold $20.1 trillion, up from $16.1 trillion in 2025.

The United States has the most billionaires at 989, followed by China with 539 and India with 229.

Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk topped the global ranking for the second year in a row, with a net worth of $839 billion. Forbes highlighted that Musk is the “first person ever recorded to reach the $800 billion mark, as he moves toward becoming the world’s first trillionaire.”

He is followed by Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, ranked second and third with $257 billion and $237 billion, respectively. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos comes fourth with $224 billion, while Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg rounds out the top five at $222 billion. (Adriane Josef E. Cabase, USJ-R Comm Intern)
