Man nabbed for online sexual exploitation in Lapu

A 46-YEAR-OLD man accused of selling lewd photos online was arrested in Lapu-Lapu City on Tuesday night, March 31.

A 14-year-old boy who had been living with the suspect was also rescued during the operation, which was conducted by operatives of the Women and Children Protection Center-Visayas Field Unit (WCPC-VFU) headed by Lt. Col. Janette Rafter.

Together with the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit, WCPC-WCPC-VFU personnel served a Warrant to Search, Seize and Examine Computer Data against the suspect.

When checked, the suspect’s seized cell phone was found to contain lewd photos of children.

Prior to the operation, police received a report from a foreign counterpart that someone in the area was involved in selling pornographic images online.

The suspect would allegedly instruct children to pose naked before selling the images to his customers.

Police said charges for violation of the Republic Act 11930 or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse o Exploitation Material Act.(CDB)
