THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-Central Visayas (LTFRB-7) is set to issue show cause orders to transport cooperatives whose modern jeepneys are found carrying advertisements for online gambling.

โ€œViolation na siya. Among ipatawag, mag-issue miโ€™g show cause order,โ€ LTFRB 7 Regional Director Eduardo Montealto Jr. confirmed in an exclusive interview with MyTV Cebu, stressing that advertising gambling platforms on public utility vehicles is a clear violation.

This move is in compliance of the directive from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) to remove all gambling-related billboards and advertisements nationwide including those on trains, buses, jeepneys, and taxis.

He also encouraged the public to report any cooperatives or corporations that continue to promote online gambling through vehicle ads.

Pagcor Chair and CEO Alejandro Tengco earlier announced the ad ban as part of efforts to ensure a more responsible gaming environment. He clarified that issues with online gambling are mainly tied to illegal platforms, not those regulated by the state.

In a report from ABS-CBN News, PAGCOR required all licensed operators and gaming venues to submit a full inventory of their billboard and wallscape ads including size, materials, location, contract expiration, and Ad Standards Council permit numbers by July 16.

All out-of-home gambling ads must be removed by August 15.

The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) has also warned content creators to stop promoting illegal online gambling platforms.(MyTVCebu)
