LITE proved it can’t be taken lightly as it ruled the Cebu Architects Basketball Club (CABC) 2nd Mortabond Cup by beating Premium, 71-68, in their championship match last Sunday, May 25, at the Benedicto College Gymnasium in Cebu City.
Mark Bajenting did the heavy damage for the champion team as he collected 21 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, one steal, and a block.
Carlos Baltar and Jonas Panerio backed Bajenting with 15 and 11 points, respectively.
Going down the drain was Michael Cinco and Chester Hinagdanan’s solid performances for Premium. Cinco finished with 23 points and three rebounds while Hinagdanan tallied 15 markers and 13 rebounds.
Pido Sanchez chipped in 11 points for the losing team, which actually led by as many as 10 points early in the game but lost steam down the stretch.
In the battle-for-third, Mortaseal trounced EZ Bond, 78-64, to bag the consolation trophy.
Kurt Damandaman paced Mortaseal with 20 points while Jhazriel Jumola pitched in 18 markers and 10 boards. Jolas Lastimosa and Reddick Palmitos added 12 and 10 for Mortaseal.
