Cebu slays Pasay in MPBL

BANKING on a hot outside sniping, the Cebu Greats sustained their climb by nailing a 92-82 slaying of the Pasay Voyagers in theMaharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2026 Season on Tuesday night, June 16, at the Pasay Astrodome.

Cebu converted 12 of their 22 attempts from the three-point territory, a high shooting clip that propelled the Greats to their third straight win.

Cebu, thus, tied Binan at fourth spot in the South Division with similar 10-3 (win-loss) cards, trailing Batangas (10-2), Gensan (12-2) and Quezon Province (8-0).

Six-foot-four Mark Meneses once again led the Greats with 19 points, including two triples, nine rebounds and three blocks. Ichie Altamirano added 11 points, spiked by two triples, three assists and two rebounds, Dondon Hontiveros went 3-of-4 from deep to tally 10 points on top of four rebounds, while Simon Camacho donated seven points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks.

Pasay tasted a second straight defeat and fell to 7-5 in the North Division.

Brian Hilario and Nico Quinal paced Pasay with 14 points each.(CCM)
