ADDITIONAL 66 job-order (JO) workers at the Capitol-run hospitals have been regularized by the Cebu Provincial Government.

The JO medical personnel who gained plantilla position were 24 support personnel including administrative staff and drivers, 15 nurses, five pharmacists, five medical technologist, threee nutritionists, two midwives, two social welfare officers, one radiologic tecnologist, and one dentist.

Twenty-seven doctors were also assigned to different Capitol-operated hospitals. Three of them are the newly designated chiefs of hospitals in the district hospitals of Oslob Barili, and Badian.

Othere were assigned to different hospitals wherein eight of the doctors deployed to Cebu Provincial Hospital (CPH) in Balamban, seven in CPH-Bogo, two each in the district hospitals in Daanbantayan, Oslob and Tuburan, and one doctor each in the district hospitals in Badian, BAriili and Malaubuyoc.

According to the Capitol Information Office, 19 medical personnel were also promoted.

In total, 85 health workers took on Monday, May 18, before Gov.Pamela Baricuatro at the Capitol.

In her message, Baricuatro assured that the welfare of health personnel will be a priority under her administration.

The governor learned that some existing health personnel in Capitol-run hospitals have already served for 27 to 35 years but still without security of tenure.

"It's really sad. I'm so glad that before it's too late, we did the right thing," Baricuatro said as per Capitol report.

The regularization of the health workers forms part of the initiative of the Capitol to strengten its healtcare services.(MyTVCebu)
