BAST, Legacy FC cop titles in Copa Cebu bootfest

THE Benthel Asia School of Technology (BAST) Green Lions and Legacy FC Cebu wrested separate titles in the Copa Cebu 2026 football tournament, which kicked off on Friday, June 19, at the Dynamic Herb-Borromeo Sports Complex in South Road Properties, Cebu City.

The Green Lions scored a 4-3 win over Don Bosco Team A in the final round of the Boys 17 category while Legacy FC topped Giuseppe FC, 1-0, in the Boys U-7 title match.

It was a double celebration for Lance Vern Omega, who pocketed the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award after steering the Green Lions to the title run.

Zeus Gerolada of Legacy FC had his own big run as he was also named MVP in the U-7 category.

Legacy FC reached the final by nipping Cebu Football Club Academy in the semifinal round, 3-2. Giuseppe FC clinched the second final seat by prevailing in its semifinal duel with Sugbo Calidad, 1-0.

The second edition of the tournament attracted 102 teams.

Organizers said participating teams are from Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, City of Naga, Tacloban City, Davao City, Talisay City, and Iloilo City.
