PARTIES in one of the country’s top destinations during holidays will not be allowed on Good Friday.
The local government of Malay, Aklan is suspending loud celebrations in Boracay Island, aiming to observe the Holy Week with solemnity.
In accordance with Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 015, Series of 2009, Mayor Frolibar Bautista issued Memorandum Order No. 2025-33, which bans rowdy gatherings during this period.
The memo will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. on April 18, Good Friday, to 6:00 a.m. on April 19, coinciding with Black Saturday.
No special permits will be issued by the local government in strict observance of Good Friday and Holy Week.
Boracay Island, renowned for its pristine beaches and vibrant nightlife, attracts around 8,500 tourists daily. Thousands more are expected to visit the island in the coming days.(Lovely May Mutia, CTU-TC Intern)
