THE Cebu Greats finally ended an alarming slide by tripping the Imus Braderhood, 76-63, in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) on Friday night, July 11, at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Former PBA player JR Quiñhan showed the way for the Greats with 13 points, putting in another strong performance after logging a 31-point output in the team’s 78-81 loss to Biñan last week.

Jun Manzo and Mac Tallo backed Quiñahan with 13 and 12 points, respectively, as the Greats finally tasted a victory after a long skid.

The win snapped a seven-game slide for Cebu, who finally won after undergoing a major revamp.

Despite the win, the Greats are still at the bottom part of the South Division standings with only five wins against 14 losses–good only for 13th place.

Cebu will next face the Ilagan Isabela Cowboys on July 17 at the FilOil Ecooil Center in San Juan City.

Isabela holds a 10-8 (win-loss) record.
