FOUR Filipinos injured in an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, are recuperating in hospitals, with three in intensive care and the fourth expected to be discharged, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said.

In a statement, the DMW said the latest information came from Labor Attaché Dominador Salangga of the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Riyadh.

The MWO and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) teams in Riyadh are monitoring the condition of the injured Filipinos, who are also receiving additional assistance and support.

“No Filipino deaths have been reported in connection with the incident,” the DMW said.

The attack occurred on Saturday, October 10, amid escalating Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabia. The Iran-backed rebel group has intensified its campaign since a truce in its long-running conflict with Yemen’s Riyadh-backed government collapsed in July.

Reuters reported that at least 12 people were killed and more than 300 wounded in the attack.

The escalating violence has raised concerns over a wider regional conflict, with US President Donald Trump signaling that Washington could join military action against the Iran-backed fighters.(MyTVCebu)
